No Fee on Balance Transfer and No Annual Fee Credit Cards

Transferring a balance from one card to another with a 0% interest introductory period saves you money on interest, but many cards charge fees to facilitate the transfer. And those fees can cancel out some of the savings. But when you have a credit card that charges no fee on balance transfer and no annual fee, you get all the savings without any of the extra fees. Say you are going to transfer a balance of $5,000, with the balance transfer fee of 3% or 4% it will add up to $150 to $200. If the card has an annual fee, you can add another $35 to $125 a year. That's a lot of money to pay in order to save money with a balance transfer. Apply for one of these no fee on balance transfer and no annual fee credit cards and every penny you pay will go toward wiping out your debt.

Make Your Balance Vanish Faster

Saving money with a card that has no fee on balance transfer and no annual fee is easy and let you reap the most benefit of a balance transfer offer. Here are some ways to make your balance shrink fast:

  • Set up automatic payments each month which are withdrawn automatically from your checking account. That way you do not only guarantee that you will never miss a payment, you have a plan in place to pay down your entire balance. Figure out how much you need to pay each month to hit your target of $0 balance before the promotion is over.
  • Try not to charge new purchases to your new card. If you do it, the minimum payments you make will go toward the balance with the higher APR first. It also motivates you to keep your plan in place when you see the balance decreasing.
  • Look for a credit card that offers rewards for signing up. Transferring a balance can mean extra sign-on bonus points, miles, or cash back with some cards, so research your options carefully. Either way, you will be rewarded with no annual fee and no balance transfer fee.
